What to wear in Hawaii in April
The weather in Hawaii in April is pretty warm. During the daytime, it’s usually around 70 to 80 Fahrenheit. So if you’re looking to explore the island during this time of year, make sure to wear something lightweight and comfortable.
1. Butterfly sleeve set
This butterfly sleeve outfit is definitely one of my absolute favorites on this list. It’s so vibrant, colorful, and just screams “vacation!”

3. Swimwear cover up
Nighttime in Hawaii can get a little chilly (somewhere around mid 60 degrees farenheit)
So if you’re thinking about heading to the beach to catch the sunset or get a drink, wear a bikini cover-up like this one to keep warm.
The color is super versatile and literally goes with any bikini you wear.

1. Havaiana’s flip flops
If you don’t bring a pair of flip-flops on your island vacation, what are you doing, sis?!? Flip-flops are an absolute must if you want to enjoy your time at the beach and not worry about sand getting in your socks.
Plus, it can get hot af in Hawaii. So you definitely don’t want to wear shoes covering up your toes. You’ll sweat like crazy.
2. Casual platform sandals
Sure, flip-flops are comfy But if you plan on visiting some fancy restaurants or bars in Hawaii, you might want to take off those sandy/muddy flip-flops.

If you’re going to be spending a lot of time in the sun and heat, loose and flowy beach shorts are a must! They’re much more comfortable than wearing tight jean shorts, and they’ll help keep you cool.

What clothes to pack for a week in Hawaii?
To pack for a week in Hawaii, you’ll need:
- 4 pairs of shorts
- 2 sundresses
- 1 pair of flowy pants
- 2 swimsuits
- 1 cover-up
- 1 pair of sunglasses
- 1 hat or visor
- 1 pair of flip flops
- 1 pair of sandals
- 4 t-shirts or tank tops
- 2 long-sleeved shirts or light sweaters
- 1 rain jacket or windbreaker

(feel free to add or subtract clothing items as you see fit)
What should you not wear in Hawaii?
In general, I’d recommend not wearing anything made of synthetic materials that don’t breathe. Like leather…omg, please don’t!
You’ll be much more comfortable in natural fibers like linen or cotton. And don’t even think about wearing jeans – they’re just going to make you hot and sticky.
If you want to stay cool, wear loose, light-colored clothing. A sun hat is also a good idea to keep the sun off your face. And remember, always apply sunscreen!
Have fun and stay safe : )
